Our Mission
The Jersey City Youth Liaison Council (JCYLC) serves as the official bridge between the student community and city government. Comprising youth representatives from schools across every ward, the JCYLC ensures that the ideas, concerns, and aspirations of young residents are heard at the highest levels of municipal leadership.
Youth Representation
Students from public, private, charter, and homeschool backgrounds across all wards serve as the voice of Jersey City's youth.
Ideas to Action
Youth members collect and refine student ideas, then present actionable proposals directly to the City Council.
Civic Engagement
Through periodic meetings, workshops, and community outreach, the JCYLC fosters a culture of participation among young people.
Accountability
Annual reports document student work, track implemented ideas, and maintain transparency with the community.
